Summary
- The salary, tax and GST amounts you type are calculated in your browser. We never receive them.
- With your consent, Google Analytics measures how the site is used. It receives salary ranges (for example ₹10–15 lakh), never exact amounts.
- We show ads from Google AdSense. With your consent, ads may be personalised; without it, Google shows non-personalised ads.
- Nothing non-essential is stored until you accept. You can change your choice any time.
- We don't sell personal data.

KnowMyMoney is operated by B.G., which decides how personal data on this site is processed (the “data fiduciary” under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact: contact@example.com.
Calculator inputs
Calculations run entirely in your browser. The figures you enter — CTC, deductions, rent, GST amounts — are not sent to our servers and are gone when you close the page. When you calculate, we record that a calculation happened along with the salary range, tax regime and calculator used, so we can see which tools are useful. Exact amounts are never sent.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and calculators people use. Google Analytics collects:
- pages viewed, time on page, and the page you came from;
- device type, browser, operating system and screen size;
- approximate location (city or region), derived from your IP address — Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses;
- calculator events: calculator used, salary range and tax regime;
- a random identifier stored in a cookie, to count returning visits.
We keep Google Analytics event data for 14 months. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can also block Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the calculators free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's My Ad Center, and opt out of some third-party vendors' personalised ads at aboutads.info.

If you reject cookies, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which rely on context (such as the page you're reading) and may use limited data for fraud prevention and frequency capping.
Cookies and your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you accept, Google tags run in a restricted mode that doesn't read or set these cookies; Google may still receive limited, cookieless signals (such as that a page loaded) used for aggregate measurement. If you reject after accepting, we remove the Google cookies set on this domain.
You can change your choice at any time, or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Durations are set by Google and may change. We also store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage (key “consent.v1”) so we don't ask again.
Server logs and hosting
Our hosting provider automatically records standard request logs — IP address, browser, page requested and time — to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited period under the provider's retention policy and are not used to identify you.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them once the matter is closed unless we need to keep them for a legal reason.
Sharing and international transfers
We share data only with the service providers named above (Google and our hosting provider), who process it on our behalf or as independent providers under their own policies. Their servers may be outside India. We don't sell or rent personal data.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (use Cookie settings);
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how it's processed;
- ask us to correct, complete, update or erase your personal data;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf;
- raise a grievance with us, and if it isn't resolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Because we don't ask for your name or account details, analytics and ads data is held by Google against random identifiers rather than against you. Clearing cookies or using Cookie settings is the quickest way to reset it.

Children
This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly process personal data of anyone under 18 and don't direct tracking or targeted advertising at children. If you're under 18, please don't accept analytics or advertising cookies.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and we don't collect account details or payment information.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If we add a new kind of tracking, we'll ask for consent again. See also our terms of use.
